Museums of Brevard is an informal organization that brings together museums and historical sites in Brevard County, Florida. Many MOBsters are non-profit organizations. Imagination Center for youth
The Imagination Center at Museums of Brevard provides a hands-on, educational experience for children of all ages. The center’s exhibits include replicas of local businesses, archaeological digs, Ais Indian tribes, and the Central East Coast Barrier Reef. The museum is always looking for volunteer help.
The Imagination Factory Children’s Museum is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a welcoming, inclusive place for all children. Planetarium
The Planetarium at Museums of Brevarr offers a unique and exciting experience for everyone. You’ll be able to watch shows that explore the universe, learn about the science behind them, and even engage in some hands-on activities. The exhibits are diverse and will change the way you view the stars. The museum is open seven days a week. There’s something for every age group, so bring the whole family!
The planetarium at Museums of Brevard also offers a show geared toward the younger set. The show explores our current night sky, the Milky Way, and the changing seasons. It is written for the 7th grader, so it’s appropriate for younger children. However, if you’re interested in teaching children about the solar system, you might want to consider a show about the Milky Way or the moon.
Nature trails
The Brevard Museum’s nature preserve is a great place to go hiking, with wheelchair accessible trails and 22 acres of natural habitat. Visitors can explore hammocks, scrub habitats, and wetland habitats. They can hear the sounds of wildlife in the undergrowth, and imagine Florida before roads cut through the natural vegetation. The nature trails are free and open to the public during museum hours. They are also an excellent way to get a closer look at the Brevard Planetarium and Travis Park Recreation Center.
While in the area, you can also enjoy a few waterfalls. The Pisgah National Forest features over 250 waterfalls, including Looking Glass Falls, which is the highest waterfall in the country. Another popular waterfall is Sliding Rock, which is a summertime favorite. The DuPont State Forest also has spectacular waterfalls. Meeting place for community groups
The Museums of Brevard County offer a number of activities to local residents and visitors. Visitors can view a wide variety of local art and history. Visitors can view replicas of Brevard businesses and enjoy a variety of other exhibits. In addition, the museum offers a conference center with surround sound. The museum also features a library with reference materials on people of African descent.

Historical homes
A visit to one of the Museums of Brevard Historical homes will give you an understanding of the local history. You will find artifacts, photos, and genealogical exhibits here. The house is actually an 1890s home turned museum. You can see the furnishings from that time, and even enjoy the art on display.
In addition to these museums, the Museums of Brevard also have holiday home tours that take place the first three weekends of December. These tours will take you through the different architecture styles from the late 19th to mid-20th centuries in Brevard County. There are also seasonal treats and activities to enjoy.
